Learning was really, really freaking hard.
It was easy to tell Teagan was something of a delinquent character. Raucous, callous, and with a strikingly intimidating appearance, she was almost stereotypically JD material. What separated her from other would-be failures was a thirst for knowledge, a need to remain above a certain standard she set for herself. Sometimes, though, she wondered if she set it impossibly high. It wasn't rare to see her frustrated with her studies or displeased with her current level of skill. She put in a lot more work than what was visible to most other students. It was on purpose, of course, so she could remain this effortlessly powerful figure, but it was rather difficult to keep up with this image at times, even annoyingly so. How easy it would be to remain a slacker and just narrowly slide by passing standards. But, no, Teagan had too much pride for the easy way out, the road most traveled. It was simply in her nature to fight as something of an underdog.
A measure she took to stay above her standards was private lessons with one Mr. Nikolas Crenshaw. It was nothing scandalous, of course, just a way for her to grow in power. Mr. Crenshahw - whom she mentally referred to as Nik, but verbally as the more formal 'Mister Crenshaw' - was her teacher of choice. While there were a multitude of other faculty members who were probably willing to help an eager students, Nik seemed to be the obvious choice. He didn't particularly annoy her, and, as far as her knowledge went, he didn't seem to mind her, either. Their paces seemed to match well. Or, at least, well enough to maintain these after school tutoring sessions. In addition, their Zodiac signs were the same. Both were Capricorns, the psychic tamers, and, fortunately enough, she was aiming to enhance her psychic powers.
But, dayumn, it was really hard.
The lesson for the day? It was to create a picture made of sand with only her mind. Teagan wasn't quite sure where he managed to think of these ridiculous lesson plans, but she didn't particularly enjoy them. That isn't to say she didn't learn from them, but still. In this lesson alone, she had gotten the urge to take a fistful of sand and throw it into his eyes six times and counting. She was particularly proficient in self-levitation because she found it fairly easy. It was her own body, she could already control it to an extent with her mind. It just took a little more effort to make it float. This sand, though. It was too sensitive to her mind's probing, too difficult to manipulate. Each and every grain vied for her attention, and, unfortunately, she couldn't seem provide that.
"Mr. Crenshawww." Tea whined after having crafted the master piece of a smiley face with a crooked grin and asymmetrical eyes. "Help meeee." It was a short and simple request. The young Capricorn was unaccustomed to asking for help. But, at times, she would allow herself to show a little bit of weakness. She leaned back in her chair, trying to put distance between herself and her wretched assignment. The face seemed to be mocking her, and she wanted nothing more than to push the sand on the ground and show it who's boss.
